Six-Day Trip in the Ecuadorian Amazon

Join us for a 6-day program in Ecuador to learn about traditional Amazonian medicine. This journey explores the ancient healing practices using plant medicine and other shamanic techniques in the Amazonian Rainforest. You will learn from experts in the field, make medicine and experience the teas, fruits, and other foods from the Amazonian rainforest.

Sample Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Quito. Relax and rest. Stay the night in the city.

Day 2: Visit an organic farm and distillery. Learn about the importance of agave to the highland people of Ecuador. Stay the night in Papallacta, a mountain village with natural hot springs

Day 3. Travel to the Amazon. Learn the main concepts of traditional Amazonian medicine. Visit a healer and their traditional Amazonian medicine garden. You will get cleansed by the healer and learn the art of cleansing. Stay the night in a rainforest lodge outside of the town of Tena.

Day 4: Visit a traditional midwifery organization to learn about the plants and practices they use for midwifery. Hike in the rainforest and explore waterfalls. Harvest food from forest for a “forest-to-table” dinner. Stay the night in rainforest lodge.

Day 5:  Wake up early in the morning for a traditional guayusa ceremony. Learn about plants used in making vapor baths. Make your own medicine.

Day 6 Wednesday: Travel back to Quito and return home.
